Accommodations in Turkey
We are currently working on getting a group rate at a hotel in Istanbul (though there are no guarantees as this is much harder to do in Turkey than in the US). However, if you are anxious to book a hotel, below are some possibilities.
One caveat about some of the hotels on this page: As we never stay in hotels when we are in Istanbul, we are not familiar with the budget hotel scene. However, we found a number of Best Westerns that are very reasonably priced. Given that they are affiliated with a major hotel chain, we are hoping they will be decent hotels. Looking at their websites it seems like most of them are small boutique hotels that just carry the Best Western brand. However, if you are planning on staying at any such hotel, I highly recommend you check some hotel reviews before booking. Trip Advisor is a great site for hotel reviews.
If you are ok with spending a bit more money on lodging, any of the other hotels we’ve specifically listed here are very nice. While they are more expensive than what you may be used to, hotels like the Hilton and Radisson are far nicer in Turkey then those brands’ hotels in the US (most are 4 or 5 star hotels).
